At SINEXCEL, we believe the true potential of energy storage lies in its ability to transform clean energy into sustainable value.
In Northwest China, a landmark “wind–solar–thermal–storage–transmission” integrated UHVDC project is now officially operational—setting a new benchmark for large-scale renewable energy deployment.
With a total capacity of:
4.5 GW wind power
1.5 GW solar power
600 MW / 2400 MWh energy storage
This project stands as one of China’s largest UHVDC energy storage initiatives—and a flagship example of next-generation power systems.
The Challenge: Pushing Boundaries
The scale and complexity of this national flagship project presented an unprecedented mission. As a global benchmark for the energy transition, the 2,400MWh site pushed the boundaries of modern power electronics:
Technical complexity: Coordinating multi-brand batteries while ensuring precise consistency control
Architecture demands: Supporting a distributed storage structure with high efficiency and long-term reliability
Extreme conditions: operating under sandstorms and extreme temperatures
Time pressure: completing production and delivery within an extremely tight timeline
The primary objective remained clear: to deliver a PCS solution that ensures total compatibility, safety, and efficiency at an unprecedented scale.
Engineering for Performance at Scale
To meet these challenges, SINEXCEL deployed 360 units of 1725 kW PCS, delivering performance across three critical dimensions:
Seamless integration
Advanced multi-string technology enables cluster-level battery management, allowing different chemistries and brands to operate in stable synergy.
System-level safety
A multi-string independent control architecture minimizes inconsistency risks, while a 10 ms response time ensures grid-level regulation and rapid fault isolation.
The NEMA 3R design guarantees stable operation even in harsh outdoor environments.
High efficiency at scale
With a peak efficiency of 98.5%, the system maximizes energy conversion—where at 2.4 GWh scale, every 1% gain translates into substantial long-term value.

Delivering Under Pressure
Within an extreme 75-day delivery timeline, and under some of the harshest site conditions, the SINEXCEL team executed with speed and precision.
The result:
+45°C heat, −15°C cold, and 60° temperature swings
Full 2.4 GWh grid connection completed in just 30 days
100% startup success rate
Maximizing speed—while securing long-term value for the customer.
Real Impact at Scale
Once operational, the project delivers:840 million kWh of renewable energy annually
Enough stored energy per cycle to power 480,000 households for a day
Equivalent to the energy capacity of 36,000 EVs (500 km range each)
Beyond numbers, it establishes a scalable model for integrating renewable energy into the grid—enhancing flexibility, stability, and energy security.
A Step Toward the Future of Energy
This 600MW/2400MWh project marks another key milestone in SINEXCEL’s utility-scale energy storage portfolio. With 17GW of global installed capacity and 5,000+ deployments across 60+ countries and regions, this project further strengthens our expertise in enabling large-scale grid integration and renewable energy hubs.
At SINEXCEL, we are committed to delivering efficient, precise, and reliable power electronics, unlocking the full value of every unit of clean energy.
